Ok, I’m dropping the whole “unemployed day #x” bullshit from my vocabulary and my blog. It was a long, depressing week and I’m fed up!

My goal was to take on a bunch of extra writing work and stuff like that for internet marketers so I could earn a few extra buck but people will write you articles for next to friggin’ nothing. Yeah, they might suck but I actually found a few people who looked REALLY promising that were not that expensive. We’ll have to see how that plays out.

I figured if I continued on with the “poor me” crap and let this bring me down, how would I ever succeed? I contacted a new Facebook friend who I found very interesting named Darren Jacklin. Turns out he a very successful and driven lad and an excellent motivational speaker.

I dropped him a line on Facebook and he actually replied to me and said we should speak on the phone this weekend. Now I hope it doesn’t cost me $500/hour because unemployed folk should spent $500 on chit chats with ANYONE…..BUT I just know that we can come out of this swinging and it it would be awesome to share it with as many people as we can.

It should be interesting to see what Darren has to say. I plan to offer to interview him and I also plan to inquire about hiring him for a Mary Kay event for my wife’s business.

I always believe in others and am confident that they can do anything they set their minds to but sometimes I lose sight of that same belief for myself. You could say my mindset needs adjusting from time to time.

I will not give up, I will remain hopeful and full of zest, I will succeed at all costs and provide my family and myself with all of the fulfillment and satisfaction that we deserve. Will you do the same?

Yep, ain’t no use hiding the truth…I think Jason Moffatt is one badass dude. He’s making a nice living from internet marketing and having a good time doing it.

He use to roll with the whole super lazy surf bum kind of theme but now he has ramped it up and is rocking the lazy surf bum gig. Hey man, baby steps!

Anyway, he still claims to make easy money on the internets and it’s nice to see him back promoting his own stuff.

Ok, so I’m a little behind with keeping up with these posts. Is anyone even reading them?

Anyway, I’ll give you a few days worth of Russell’s desktop mentoring to catch us up a bit.

Day 7 – Call (800) 272-6871 xt. 123 for your free coaching call.

Day 8 – Getting your site online
- Domain name is $8-10/year
- Get one that’s easy to remember
- Get a .com (no .net etc.)
- No hyphens

Day 9 – Setting up your website
There are 3 types of websites:
- Squeezepage
- Salesletter
- Blog

Homework – Go get a minisite designed

There you have it. Pretty basic stuff I guess but at least he’s taking us step by step. I do still feel that he has omitted a couple very serious steps. Namely they are selecting a niche and researching the niche for market interest.

I know he had the Ask campaign deal, but if you picked a dud the first time, really you would be stuck at that phase re-doing your Ask campaign over and over until you found a niche with some serious interest.

On day five Russell covered something that really interests me… product packaging. that might sound extremely boring to you, but I find it fascinating how people’s minds work. You can offer something to someone and have them be totally uninterested in it, and then you can present them the exact same thing packaged in a different manner and they will eat it up!

In the day five video, Russell shows a couple of books and then shows the exact same books recorded on CD. If you know Russell’s background, this may not seem like a big deal as he is a self-professed marketing material junkie, but I can attest to it first hand that different packaging sells.

I recently picked up an e-book called The Four Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. It was handy to read the book at work on my lunch, but then I got busy and didn’t have time to read so I got the audio version. When I was at home, I didn’t want to sit around and listen to the audio file so went out and bought the actual printed book version. No wonder Ferriss only works for hours a week…people like me are paying his bills!

So the point of Russell’s lesson for the day was that you can release a book (or an e-book), you can record an audio file of yourself reading the book, you can make a video about the book, or you could even hold a seminar teaching the book’s contents.

Speaking of books, I know of some great books and cruising. You work hard and you deserve a vacation… the best value for your money when vacationing is cruising. Don’t be a chump and pay too much for your cruise…go buy my books and save money, time and aggravation on your cruise vacation

The lesson for Day 4 was to collect questions and write an outline on what your business will teach people. Russell claims that our ask campaign should have collected about a hundred questions so far.

I think there’s one major flaw in this so far… what if someone has no niche chosen nor do they have any idea what niche to choose?

I haven’t been participating myself at this point, as I’ve been doing a little research into keyword research and niche selection.

Before we continue on to day five and six, let’s go back and recap the days we’ve covered so far:

Day 2 – monetize your ideas

On day three, Russell covered the law of community. The idea is simply to get in forums related to your niche, answer posts and make posts of your own. The idea here is to become a part of the forum or community, participate, and get to know your fellow members so you don’t look like a troll!

Day three homework: as stated above; join forums and post away!

Where does the time go? I’ve fallen a bit behind on updating the blog in regard to Russell Brunson’s Wealth Building Portfolio. Let’s get at it and get caught up.

Day 2 – Monetize your ideas

Russell referred to a book called Don’t dig for gold by Sam Breman. Sam was California’s first millionaire who bought all of the shovels in town when everyone else was panning for gold. Where do you think they went when they needed shovels to dig up their treasures? You got it…Sam Breman’s shop.

3 Rules

1- Always ask first…what do people want?
2 – Create an outline from Ask campaign questions.
3- What is your big idea? What’s unique about it?

Day 2 Apprentice homework: read the resources, Make an Ask campaign, make a squeeze page in Wheeby or another HTML program.

So now that I have access, I’ve clicked through the desktop mentor and it told me to:
Join the 30 day challenge and Do my apprentice homework.

For the 30 challenge, we’re supposed to :
1) List our goals
2) Create a vision board
3) Create a mission statement

We’re also supposed to take before photos of what we’d like to change (broken old crappy car, more time with family, leave job etc.) and then we work the materials Russell provides for 90 days.

Then we take an after photo, and write a 1000 word essay of how we have changed internally in the past 90 days. Next we submit our website(s) and proof of income during the last 90 days. After this, a winnder and 5 finalists will be chosen.

So far, it doesn’t look as structured as it was made out to be but there is definitely TONS of good info here and if it does nothing but keep people moving forward taking action…then it’s well worth the price of shipping if you ask me!

When you first setup desktop mentor it asks you to pick a time to receive your next module. Mine is set for 9:00pm so we’ll see what happens tomorrow. For now, I’ve got 41 pdf’s to read….better get at it.
